[64studio-users] Laptop freezes when fan starts on 64studio 2.0

Hi all,

I have an ACER TravelMate 660 with 64studio 2.0 installed on an
external USB drive.

I'm burdened with the following problem: apparently when the fan
starts to blow my whole system freezes (image on the screen totally
still, keyboard and mouse unresponsive) and the only solution for me
is to press the power off button for several seconds and restart the
system (with ext3 file system repair etc.).

I can't be absolutely sure the fan start is the problem (it could
actually be an effect of a 100% CPU lock -- but I would expect it to
start only after a few seconds, whereas it starts exactly when the
system freezes).

I've found no correlation with the applications I was using or the
operation I was performing (sometimes it happens while using IceWeasel
with no other apps running, sometimes while using Rosegarden, etc.).

Has anybody experienced something similar? I've simply no idea what to
check to look into this issue.
