The RME pci based Hammerfall cards are very well supported by linux. I
have the Digi 9632 card and a ADAT digital mixer. Stunning results,
what else can I say.
The difference between the Hammerfall - digimixer combination and my
Audigy platinum (which was supposed to be a premium sound card) is so
noticeable, that since the jack awareness of totem, I hardly use the
audigy for anything much anymore. Thinking of removing it soon...

Although my card is not available anymore, this one looks very nice, in
that it also has analog output (whereas mine has only ADAT and SPDIF)
Hope it helps!
Cheers,
Quentin
