The drivers are included.  Free built 3 modules that are accessible via 
synaptic after the first boot.
I agree it is inconvenient at the moment to have to go though the whole 
process of first enabling vesa before you can use nvidia.

Perhaps we could ask Free to add a dialog somewhere in which you could 
select the module you want, in stead of the default nv module that does 
not always work on the newer hardware.
