Well, it appears the monitor blew itself up, hopefully it's just a blown 
fuse. However, I'm now uneasy about connecting any monitor to the system 
until I determine what happened with the upgrade.

Btw, the monitor is a Sony Trinitron, *not* a cheap piece. All I can do 
now is wait until the repair shop opens. I unplugged the unit and tested 
it in another line, got no joy at all, not even an On light.
