[64studio-users] using "multimedia" keyboard for JACK transport?

Try Desktop -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts on the Gnome menu to 
see if your multimedia keys are recognised. If not, you may need to 
experiment with the hotkey-setup package (it's in the 64 Studio apt 
repository).

After that, you'd need to use a Jack transport client that supported key 
bindings, or work on a patch for that. I agree it would be an excellent 
feature in a program like Ardour, because you wouldn't need an expensive 
dedicated transport control surface. I don't think the transport hotkeys 
can be reassigned in Ardour at the moment; I guess there would need to 
be a new tab in the Options editor.
