well daniel this did fix lash. works just fine now thanks:).

Unfortunately I am having the same problem with 'make'.. same exact
error with lash again. I did try the pkg-config mod command that Lars
suggested and got this:

nate at 64studio:~$ pkg-config --modversion lash1.0
Package lash1.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `lash1.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'lash1.0' found
nate at 64studio:~$

I even tried using instead of lash1.0 with
lash2.0,lash2,liblash,liblash2, and even glashctl. All give me the
same message. so any ideas?
