Hi Dave, Hi Gustin
Actually after reboot I¨ve lost my desktop .... I have clean default space after log-in.
I¨ve tried #apt-get install gnome-core metacity
I've get long list of errors like:
dpkg: error processing prevent configuration of gnome-utils:
gnome-utils depend on scrollkeeper; however:
Package scrollkeeper is not configured yet.
Actually I've have same output for #apt-get -f install
No printer connected... I have no printer.. :-)
< Is what gets used the most on upgrades here.
< With your graphics resolution, you were having trouble with "1280x1024".
< Can you get "1152x864"?
I am trying upgrade my notebook now... But I will try "1152x864" on my PC soon.
Cheers
mirami

< Hi mirami Hi Gustin,
<
< Their is much to this testing. So many variables.
< e.g. why have a printer on a recording studio?
< So I remove all things not needed, and don't have a printer plugged in.
< My upgrades to lenny are quite smooth, as Gustin says "massage the upgrade".
< Wine is also removed, and reinstalled later.
< Then you learn that Daniel and Free need tests on clean installs.
< Off you go Happy Testing. On clean installs.
< I had to do two installs and two lenny upgrades to get this error message.
< Only when I plugged in a printer did it show up.
< Two identical clean installs can give different errors on upgrades.
< "Go Figure".
< Adding the lenny back-ports at this stage has changed things again.
< If this were my upgrade I would try
< # apt-get -f install
< I would have removed cupsys and tried to continue, but it's so hard to
< give advice with so many variables at play.
< Using Sid to find out what was broken worked here, nothing was installed
< except Ardour from sid at the end.
< Moving back and forth
<
< * Synaptic Reload + Mark All Upgrades + Apply.
< # apt-get -f install
<
< Is what gets used the most on upgrades here.
< With your graphics resolution, you were having trouble with "1280x1024".
< Can you get "1152x864"?
<
< Cheers,
< dave.
