Hi Free,
The first synaptic/apt mix, gave errors with (libpam0g),
I could not get past this error, without using a terminal,
is this a clue? I don't pretend to understand.
The report you have now (the last one) was a clean install,
I never touched synaptic at all... no libpam0g error.
Do you want me to try a fresh install, not touch apt
and see if synaptic gives the same result?
qsynth is the only error that did not resolve. This upgrade is fine.
Ardour is sweet, so is rosegarden, and gimp.
In fact everything is running great, as far as I can see.
I see more mail here, so this post is in a time warp.
If users have older installs and have been moving
between apt/synaptic they could have problems?
I am going to send this now and catch up with the new info
Do you want me to test upgrade with apt or synaptic?
Take care,
dave.
