Hi all,

I've decided to drop some of the backports which recently broke the
testing branch, most noticeably gimp 2.4 along with a number of
dependences it needs (gtk, ghostscript, and many others).

I think we now have learned the lesson and should not touch core
libraries of the system, or at least changes to such components should
be tested carefully before including them in the testing branch.

You can downgrade your systems with:

apt-get update
apt-get install cdd-utils
aptitude install ~t^cdd$
apt-get dist-upgrade

And then maybe again a run of:

aptitude install ~t^cdd$
apt-get dist-upgrade

to make sure nothing is left out.

Be sure you have the right repositories enabled, that means comment
out everything in /etc/sources.lists, and leave only these entries
of /etc/sources.lists.d/64studio.list:

# Stable 64 Studio repository
#deb http://apt.64studio.com/64studio/stable 64studio main

# Debian etch
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian etch main contrib non-free

# Security updates
deb http://security.debian.org/ etch/updates main

# Bleeding edge 64 Studio repository, only for testers!
deb http://apt.64studio.com/64studio/testing 64studio main

Ciao!
