These should be OK, but it's worth searching for problems people may 
have had with the FA-66 or other Freebob devices.

I think this VIA chipset is most likely to be the cause of your 
problems, unless it works fine in Ubuntu Studio. You could try asking 
for recommendations for a better PCMCIA card on the Freebob list.
