It's a bit broken on 64 Studio at the moment. As root, you have to do this:

# ln -s liblash.so.2.1.1 /usr/lib/liblash.so.1

Then, check your Gnome panel to make sure Notification Area is enabled. 
After that, running glashctl from the Sound & Video menu will make a 
LASH icon appear in the notification area. Right-click on it, and you 
can manage Jack connections (without running Jack Control, it starts 
jackd by itself).

Now if I only knew how to make it save a session...

That's called Jack Transport, it's already supported in Jack Control and 
several apps. Ardour allows you to select the time master, with a button 
in its main control area.
