Hmm. I'm getting the impression that most Linux users steal the url and 
load it into a stand-alone player. I'm determined to get to the bottom 
of this, as having a web-browser that can't play embedded videos in a 
multimedia distro is somewhat embarrassing.

I have had reports that mplayer/xine do work for some people, but that 
seems to be the exception rather than the rule. I'm particularly 
interested in real and windows media formats. It would also be nice to 
get qt working. I have succeeded so far in just getting iceweasel not to 
crash when I attempt to play a quicktime file. Which is something I 
suppose. I haven't really checked out the behaviour relating to mp3 and 
ogg formats.

 From a brief investigation, it looks like there might be some future in 
creating some additional definitions in /etc/mozpluggerrc - It's more 
complicated than the man page suggests, so I'll have to tackle this 
later. If anyone has any bright ideas, I'm open to suggestions. :)
