[64studio-devel] Preferred applications - command not installed (v1.4.0)

AMD64 1.4.0 all current patches installed

Default preferred applications "gnome-www-browser" and "thunderbird-compose" 
do not appear to be installed.

This was discovered when running abiword/help/about and selecting the URL 
link to the developer's website.

Error given is "An error has occurred while trying to launch the default web 
browser.
Please check your settings in the 'Preferred Applications' preference tool."

running these commands from the terminal gives "command not found."
