Hi Free,
It seems I needed the newest nvidia drivers off their website. I
deinstalled the ones coming with 64 and installed the new ones with the
auto installer.
My problems went away... It seems like some minor bug in the older drivers.
Would it be possible to make a kernel-module package with the new
version of the driver and keep it in backports? That way we'll stay
updated even if the kernel should change...
Perhaps wishful thinking.
Cheers,
Quentin
PS: I got 64studio running with Beryl now. Yes, It is working. Yes, I
know I said I did not like eye-candy because of the performance issues.
No, I do not see a noticeable performance difference, and I only get
xruns at the normal places (stopping jamin for instance)
This piece of software brought a new dimension to my systems "WOW
factor". 16 motorized faders doing their thing and a berylized desktop
makes for a pretty impressive show. And its all mine!
