As far as I remember in the testing version 1.3 (sorry, I am not connected to my 64studio now, my message is approximative), I also saw that now the apt file is in
/etc/apt/?????.d/
in the testing version.
in my case the /etc/apt/sources.list file was empty and aptitude synchonized with http, so I checked further and discover there was a new way of managing sources (a more standard Debian way probably).
