Yup, install the headers and image of the 2.6.19 kernel. This is the
latest kernel Free made for the "Old school" version (SMP enabled)
The 2.6.19 kernel has been in use on my PC for the past few months, and
it is a MACHINE.... Should be fine!
And no... Synaptic respects your choice of a kernel. If you want an
older kernel, thats what it will give you ;-)
