[64studio-devel] "Bootstrapping" an nforce-based machine on 64 Studio

Hi guys, new to the list, so please be gentle :D

I installed 64 Studio 1.0.0 last week from CD and was totally stoked
by how comprehensive it was compared to my experiences with DeMuDi.
However, I have come up to a snag:

I'm looking to install some extra packages, but I'm having trouble
getting online with my awful nforce NIC. I've tried installing the
latest 486 kernel I found in 1.1.1 (
http://apt.64studio.com/64studio/64studio_1.1.1.apt/pool/main/l/linux-2.6/linux-image-2.6.19-1-multimedia-486_2.6.19-1~experimental.1_i386.deb
) and setting up my interfaces file, but to no avail.

Can anyone provide deep wisdom with regard to this problem? It would
seriously make my week :)
