Isn't it simple enough to change the reply_goes_to_list setting in mailman?

going through mailman I found the following:
http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html

and then

http://www.metasystema.net/essays/reply-to.mhtml

so looks like this has probably been argued for a while...
