Hi again :-)
jack server, by default, can handle only one card.
following some wiki and howto's I happened to complete a .asoundrc file
that mixes two cards in one, in theory this can allow access to both
cards as the same interface.
One must know however that the two cards should be linked by clock so as
this can work. ( Otherwise it seems to bring complete mess with errors
and xruns due to out of sync behaviours ). I am in this regular case
since I can sync my second audio cards to its incoming spdif that I have
enslaved to an hardware locked on wordclock coming from my first card.
I alsa don't really doubt my asoundrc file works with the jack server.
Though I will test this after this email.
What I have figured out, is that QJactCtl only displays the plugs
allowed by loaded hw. So, indeed I can really play with hw0, hw1...
hw6... but seperatly.
QJackCtl doesn't seem to be aware of other virtual devices I may have
defined with .asoundrc ( I mean even if it is just a simple mapping of
one card, not necessarily the "2 cards in 1" trick )
Could anyone point me an idea. I haven't found any documentation /
manuals aboout QJactCtl. I don't know why it doesn't permits me to setup
with the virtual device I've created.
I am sorry to insist with questions, but I'm on configuring my setup
since december... and i feel just like this time it is the last ultimate
step to an awesome wonderful and fully working home studio.
in advance thanx.
Blue I.
