The updates haven't stopped the problem entirely.  I think it is related to 
certain pop-up's which is why the problem is intermittent.  Ssometimes a new 
(popup) window is drawn for a split second and then Iceweasel dies.

I'm beginning to wonder if it is something to do with my Nvidia graphics 
card (cheap and nasty 6200Turbocash!).  I'm running the stock kernel, rather 
than Nvidia.  On my Ubuntu 606 system with the Nvidia drivers Firefox is 
totally reliable.  I'm not overly concerned, I think my problem is local.

I still get wierdness with Bookmarks showing an extra phantom entry with the 
word (empty), but again, no-one is seeing the same problem.
