 I must be missing something here, because I can't recreate the crash.

 What I do is:

 boot up[[BR]]
 don't start jack or anything else[[BR]]
 launch hydrogen[[BR]]
 open the pattern editor[[BR]]
 observe that '''none''' of the items are labelled "empty", although some
 have no description[[BR]]

 open the mixer[[BR]]
 observe that none of the items are labelled "empty", although some have no
 description[[BR]]
 click all over the unlabelled porttions[[BR]]
 nothing crashes[[BR]]


 I think my test is too simple, and I'm confused that I can't get any
 strips labelled "empty".

 Could you point me in the right direction on this problem?
