I don't see why not, if it tests OK. I guess the installer kernel for 
2.0 will be quite a bit older though.

Only one warning during the install of the kernel package:

Running postinst hook script /sbin/update-grub.
You shouldn't call /sbin/update-grub. Please call /usr/sbin/update-grub 
instead!
