 OK. So after reboot the .mid files now open Rosegarden when double
 clicked.

 Conclusion? The airgin 64studio installation does not associate Midi files
 correctly.  Selecting any .mid file, right clicking and selecting "open
 with...rosegarden" seems to make the system operate correctly.  This only
 has to be done one-time.

 The wierd problem with drag and drop still exists - this looks like some
 sort of rosegarden issue and is probably unrelated to this ticket.
