[64studio-devel] To surf or not to surf...

Not new to Linux, but I'm new to 64 Studio; I had tried Deb Woody
years ago but I was on dialup at the time and I never went far with it
for lack of programs; I dropped Woody for a distro that included more
bells, bigger whistles, etc on the isos. Hence, I'm not yet Debian
savvy. But I have learned to say "apt-get"!! Anyways....
I plan on triple booting a Celeron D PC: XP64, 64 Studio, and a
general pushbutton distro that will need very little administration to
get it running (Freespire or Knoppix).
So... my first question.
Would 64 Studio be more responsive and more reliable if I kept
networking out of the picture?
I don't really NEED to have 64S be configured to surf because I can
get online when I'm not running 64S. Yeah, apt-get works better when
I'm using Linux.... so the question is based on needing to add
modules, risking the potential kernel activity at a bad time, risking
the security of the system (not as if I'm going to lose $millions on a
security breach, but still)., etc.
Thanks!!
