I haven't tried 0.4.0-rc1 - please let us know how you get on with that.

We have considered xjadeo, but the problem with all video software in 
free distributions is the patent-encumbered codec dependencies. This is 
why we use gstreamer for video playback with Totem, because the codecs 
can be installed as optional plug-ins.
