Yes, our testing branch is relatively conservative. We recommend the
stable releases for production systems because they have been through
more of our own tests.

At the moment, our testing branch is based on backports to Etch, rather
than following Debian testing. At some point in the future, when Etch is
missing too many new features, our testing branch will be following
Debian testing again (as it did before the Etch release).
