What kinds of error messages are you seeing? Or is the window just not 
showing up?

If you start the relevant app in a terminal rather from the Gnome menu, 
you'll usually get more helpful output.

I'm not getting these errors, but it's possible I've made some manual 
tweak which isn't included in the distro itself.
