[64studio-devel] CPU frequency scaling

We do support it, did you try the Gnome applet yet? Right-click on the 
Gnome panel (eg. by the clock), click Add to Panel and choose CPU 
Frequency Scaling Monitor. Not all CPUs have this feature; my dual 
Opteron workstation doesn't, but my Turion laptop does.

Yes, it kills jack performance when the speed drops - xrun city. Great 
for graphics or publishing jobs when you're on battery power though.

I've never tried that - the Turion defaults to full speed or half speed. 
A bit like my 286 PC with its Turbo button, there to stop MS-DOS games 
running too fast :-)
