Hi all,
I don't suppose this will come as much of a surprise to you, but
yesterday I was pleased to discover that importing audio from a CD and
pictures from a camera has become as easy as it is on a modern AppleMac.
SoundJuicer did everything I wanted it to and similarly importing photos
from a Sony Cybershot camera using gthumb was intuitively obvious. The
only change I'd make would be to put a rotate button on the toolbar and
make it clear in the batch transform dialog that 'Apply to all' means
'Apply to all selected'. Very minor points really. I'll drop a bug
report their way when I have a moment. Both devices presented an icon on
the desktop when the media was inserted and behaved how I wanted them to.
I nearly fell off my chair!
It's for reasons like this that I am starting to recommend 64studio to
Jo Public - the kind of ordinary computer users that I usually argue
don't exist. ;)
I do have one little complaint:
On 64studio upgrades, could you stop re-setting the GDM theme? It's
really starting to annoy me.
Do you need a formal bug report for this?
All in all, I think we could quite easily argue that 64studio provides
the best potential upgrade path from WindowsXP now.
cheers,
tim
