I've just uploaded to Debian/unstable, and it will appear in the next
64 Studio release as well.

Yes, SSE is on, at least that's what's ./configure says. However I
must say that jackd is not printing any notice about that at startup,
but the page you pointed states it should.. are you getting such a
notice with your self-compiled jackd?
