I    wanted  to update    the    ardour bet12   package currently   in
Debian/experimental, but I've retained  from doing that because  I was
emailed   by a  developer  from Ubuntu    Studio and  asked about  the
possibility of having in Debian two different packages, one for ardour
.99 and one for ardour 2.0, so that people  can have them installed at
the same time.

As these days I've seen a couple of post on this list too, of people
having to compile ardour 2.0 themselves to make it live with .99, I'm
considering to change the name of the ardour 2.0 binary package, from
"ardour-gtk" to simply "ardour" (or "ardour2").

However before doing that I'd like to have some feedback from you
guys. Once the final ardour 2.0 gets released (and it should be not to
far in the time), will be there still many people wanting to use
ardour .99, possibly having a parallel install of it?
