Hello All,
I Tripple-Boot WinXP, Ubuntu Server 6.06 dapper drake, and 64Studio on a
compaq v5000 laptop.
my 64Studio sits on hda4.
Ubuntu shoud mount that partition automatically, but if it doesn't you may
need to do something like the following, (depending on your partition):
#mkdir /media/hda4
#sudo mount /dev/hda4 /media/hda4
if you already tried something similar(which is what worked for me, though a
few files are still unreadable for whatever reason), Just send the info
requested above, and i'm sure we can all knock our skulls together and
figure something out.
When I first loaded 64Studio, I had the opposite problem. (64Studio refused
to mount my other partitions). I went ahead and added them all to fstab,
made the proper directories in /media and then they all mounted just fine,
even the ntfs part.
btw guys, I'm really impressed. this is a really difficult breed of laptop
to get a linux system running on, as all the hardware is HP/compaq/"made for
microsoft" proprietary crap. only thing that doesnt work out of the box is
the sound.
cheers,
-Alexander-
