Hi Benoit, alsa 1.0.11  is  known  to fail  building with  the  2.6.17
kernel (the shipped with the latest 64 Studio release).
However alsa 1.0.12 should be fine, it's available in Debian/unstable:
http://packages.debian.org/unstable/sound/alsa-source
you may want to run  dpkg-reconfigure alsa-source to compile only  the
modules you need. Remember also to use gcc 4.1.
A command like
m-a build alsa
should work.
I did not test  it yet, but  I plan to include  alsa 1.0.12 in next 64
Studio release.
