Yes, I believe it has. I'd say the recent Ardour 0.99.x releases are as
stable as any other audio software I've used, and I haven't experienced
any crashes for a long time. It's very different, in terms of stability,
from how it was a couple of years ago.

I'll confess that we haven't tested any serial mice, only USB and PS/2.
What make/model is your trackball? I personally use the Logitech
TrackMan trackballs, but these are USB, with a PS/2 adaptor.

Right, in that case it's probably that the 64 Studio installer just
isn't expecting to find any serial pointing devices.
