Reinstalled the kernel 2.6.18-3+rt7 and the alsa modules, and all is okay
again. Thanks.

I disabled the screensaver, and am doing the same test again.  Nice to see
my CPU taking a breather.  No xruns so far. Everything is now working fine.

If none of the other dual-core guys has any problems, I think we can now
close the dual-core AMD bug's ticket #249. I am sold.

We are closing in one the home stretch.
