I have a presario v3000 (V3010CA) with a Turion X2. I would recommend
waiting for a little while as there are some issues still to be worked out.

It has an Nvidia 6150 which works with the nvidia binary drivers.
Onboard sound is not yet directly supported by ALSA but works fine with
some patches to ALSA (not hard but probably more effort than its worth
for most).

Suspend to RAM works quite well.

The memory card reader is flaky (different controller from the one in
Daniel and Free's laptops).

Onboard ethernet works fine, the wireless card is useless, even with the
 ndiswrapper driver.

Basically the latest MCP51 and MCP61 chipsets from NVidia can work, but
are not going to be as reliable as you would like, at least not out of
the box.
