The only problem I have with using the 2.6.17 package you made before is 
that it has this bug:

If we can track this one down and fix it, maybe with a patch to 2.6.17, 
then I'd be very happy to release 1.0 with that kernel. 2.6.18-rt and 
2.6.19 seem to be way too bleeding-edge for a stable release.

Also, we should double check our 2.6.17 config for those flags that Lee 
suggested disabling, and any debug flags we have turned on.

Right, but then you need to launch the program explicitly and you need 
the root password. Putting apt tools on the taskbar is just inviting 
users to play with them :-)
