Forcedeth is the free software driver for on-board nVidia ethernet 
chipsets, including the one on your motherboard.

The on-board audio can probably be made to work if you can figure out 
which codec it uses, but let's tackle the ethernet problem first.

There is a known booting problem with the 2.6.18-rt7 kernel, included in 
the 0.9.7 release, on certain boards, see this ticket:

If you switch to the console before the freeze (hit the F2 key) do you 
see a message at the end similar to the following?

softirq-timer/0[5] exited with preempt_count 1
