Perhaps then the problem is not simply the rt7 patch, but some 
configuration option related to timing as well. Are you still seeing the 
message about softirq on the console?

Just to double-check, was 0.9.4 working OK on this machine? It could be 
we have to go back to 2.6.17 but with an updated Jack package for the 
dual-core people.
