mLAN support on Linux is not very mature. There is a driver for 2.4 
kernels here:

but it has not been updated to work with 2.6 kernels yet.

You could connect your i88x to a Linux box using the ADAT interface, but 
this would mean buying an extra card, such as an RME Hammerfall.
