What does lspci say about your video card?

I don't have these either, but I have a TFT flat panel and it doesn't 
seem to need them. Your monitor is a CRT, right? If so, I think you 
definitely need these settings from your monitor manual or Xorg log.

OK, sounds like it could be a bug in Debian's x.org packages or 
configuration tool.
