Anti-static precautions are always a good idea when changing cards :-)
64 Studio should recognise the new card and load the correct modules
automatically. Then you need to log in and run Envy24 Control from the
Sound & Video menu to set the card options and levels.

You don't need our permission for redistribution, although it's always
good for us to hear about custom versions that are being produced. We
haven't worked on including Java so far, but we can offer development
and packaging support if you need it.
One consideration is that if you want to distribute on a single CD-R,
you will probably have to remove some other packages to make room for
Java components. It might be easier to stick to the standard distro, and
put the Java stuff on a departmental apt server, or a companion CD-R.
