Hi Free,

In menuconfig HPET option is in Processor type and features, line 6.

To be sure I've just build one from vanilla 2.6.18 with the last config
2.6.18-1-multimedia I found after installing your last kernel except for
the HPET flag . Haven't touch anything else.
This kernel actually boot and run on the core duo laptop.
It doesn't run as SMP and it's a good thing because SMP kernel doesn't
boot when build with real time full preempt flag set.
