We could remove some of the less important packages for the next 
release. The problem we face is that if we limit ourselves to the 700MB 
of a CD-R, it doesn't leave any room for things like tutorials, sample 
media files and so on, which we will probably want to include in the 
future. Also, there are some significant new applications that we want 
to include. We'd rather not go down the path of having a multiple-CD set.

Hmmm. Overburning is bound to be unpredictable, since it breaks the 
official standard.

Which model drive is that? I am using NEC DVD-RW drives; they are cheap, 
work without problems, and are quite quiet in operation too.
