Maybe we shouldn't worry about the 700MB limit, which is quite 
artificial, and simply require a DVD-R to install. Given the hardware we 
are targeting, all machines should have at least DVD read capability.

For bandwidth reasons, I think we should keep the installer below 1GB 
though. If we end up needing a three DVD install set, then we'll be 
competing directly with Windows to see who's got the most bloated OS ;-)

On the other hand, if our release candidates are not much more than 
700MB, we may be able to save a few megabytes with some careful pruning.
